Gir Nar Nature Safari BOOK NOW

Located near the "Old Fort" city (Junagadh) and designated after the legendary and much revered mighty mount Girnar, the Girnar forest (Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary) is an amazing amalgamation of nature, religion and history. The stories and legends of this holy place are as old as the hills. This sacred land's denizens can narrate endless fables related to the five great peaks of Girnar hill. Apart from being an important place of devotion for different religious sects, the Girnar forest is an important forest ecosystem. Varied topography and vegetation give Girnar a rich diversity in habitats and natural beauty. It is home to more than 50 free-ranging Asiatic lions. Besides the Asiatic lions, Indian leopard, spotted deer, sambar, crocodile, civet cat, rusty-spotted cat, jungle cat, Indian golden jackal, hyena, and over 300 species of birds make the place worth visiting.

It has a special mention regarding endangered and critically endangered vulture species such as long-billed vulture, white-rumped vultures and king vulture. Go on a gypsy safari in Girnar to experience the wildlife and wilderness in their natural habitat, listen to their sounds and feel your heartbeat rise with excitement. The safari has designated tracks to observe wildlife and nature. One can take a safari gypsy with a trained eco-guide. Only a maximum of six visitors (plus one child between 3-12 years) are allowed in each gypsy. Moreover, with the commencement of Asia's longest Girnar ropeway, the visitors can now enjoy a panoramic view of the admirable Girnar hills.
